Counseling for the Chronically Ill

Someone you know likely suffers from a chronic illness. Perhaps you stopped by this page seeking guidance and support for a loved one, or maybe you are the one struggling with a chronic illness.

At Ephesians 5:25 Ministries, we specifically understand the life challenges that come from dealing with a chronic illness.

In a way, the process of discovering you have a chronic illness is very similar to the five stages of grief.

  1. Denial and Isolation
  2. Anger
  3. Bargaining
  4. Depression
  5. Acceptance

The big difference however, is that you will constantly cycle through all these emotions for the rest of your life. And for most of your journey, people cannot and never will understand the ongoing daily struggle you deal with.

That’s where Ephesians 5:25 steps in. As counselors that deal with chronic illness themselves , we are equipped to help you work through some of the questions you face as a Christian with a chronic illness.

  1. Why would God allow you or your loved one to get sick?
  2. Why would God allow me to suffer?
  3. How can this be a part of His plan?
  4. Should I trust in divine healing or seek a doctor?
  5. What should you do if you or your loved one is not healed?
  6. What about the Scriptures that seem to teach that everyone should be healed?
  7. Why does God delay or say “no” to answering my prayer?
  8. How do I live for the glory of God and advance His Kingdom in this storm?

Each of the issues are very difficult to understand and even harder to live through in your own life or with a loved one who is suffering. But, remember God has promised to Never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). God has also promised to give you wisdom if you will ask for it (James 1:5). As you receive Gods wisdom in the midst of this trial the Lord will sustain you with His peace. Therefore, we will call out to Him for His peace and presence to come fill you and let your heart be strengthened!

Should I Mow the Lawn ?

Several years ago I was counseling a group of men on one of our group counseling calls, and we got into a discussion of God’s will. The thought process was an extremely popular discussion on free will and destiny. And while the post may be geared towards those suffering with a chronic illness, it applies

Love Shines Through The Darkness

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God. 1 John 4:7 CANCER is perhaps the most fear-filled word in the entire English language. The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:18 that perfect love casts out fear. Love is a force that cannot be stopped and flows directly from God. It is

The Lost Glory….

What would it be like if we had a vision for each other, if we could see the lost glory in ourselves, our family, our friends? What would the effect on your sons or daughters be if they realized if you were caught up with the possibilities of restored glory, of what they would become

Thank you for an Amazing 2016

I would like to take a minute and thank everyone who supported Ephesians 5:25 Ministries in 2016. When we look at the Body of Christ, we see that it takes all of us as a team to fulfill His Vision for His will on Earth. While Nehemiah may have been given the Vision by God

As a person suffers,

As a person suffers, he or she can know a piece of what Christ endured for them and love Christ more as a result. Suffering provides a unique opportunity for a person to become aware of how they are finding joy in life through circumstances and created things rather than through fellowship with God. I

Joy and wisdom is ours through every lesson !

Joy and wisdom is ours through every lesson or experience as we grow closer to Christ and fulfill the plan that He has for our lives. And doing it with a lack of perfect health is an incredible way to honor God. Even Satan believes that the health, or rather, the un-health, of our bodies
